Now that summer is fully with us, it has been great to see wildlife ideas coming to fruition and delivering results. You may have noticed that underneath the chestnut tree by the Hub, a triangle of unpromising ground is now carpeted with an assortment of wild flowers, including phacelia, borage and vetch and is full of different types of bees and other pollinators.
Behind the Hub, but visible from the footpath, some former grassland now offers a host of different colourful meadow plants to attract and nourish insect life. There are even a few orchids tucked away discreetly, which were rescued from being mown.
